Focused on the relationship between resilience and frailty, this series is inspired by ancient Assyrian sculptural themes, Native American color palettes and the two cultures’ shared tradition of ornate, pattern-based art. This work is a testament to the power of one’s inner visions: at a time when Rabel was searching for an artistic link between these two cultures but experiencing a creative block, he paused, let his imagination take over, and found these creations pouring out of him.
