Iron oxide and glazed ceramic piece from my Biomorphic Pottery Series (6.25″ H x 6.25″ W, completed in 2014).
A continuing series, using organic ceramic forms to explore improvisation, abstraction and nature. In developing hand-building skills, Rabel became bored with symmetrical pottery, but uncovered a fascination with the sensuality and mother-earth sensibility in irregularly shaped ceramics. This pottery is formed to appear as though it were shaped by the earth.
